Katy joined the firm in the fall of 2024 after twelve years working at the non-profit Prepare + Prosper where she led Minnesota’s largest volunteer income tax assistance program. These years of experience leading teams, improving processes, and documenting procedures prepared her to jump into managing the talented Boyum Barenscheer administrative team. Katy values clear communication across the board and believes that everyone’s role becomes easier when expectations are clear. She’s genuinely curious – lots of questions is standard operating procedure!

Outside of the office Katy is a fan of sports and the great outdoors. She’s an avid soccer player and curler (proficient at both, but not exceptional at either one). She loves canoeing, hiking, and camping. On the less active side, Katy loves doing jigsaw puzzles, board games, and watching Korean dramas.
