What Should You Really Take Away From a Conference?

Conference Season for CPAs: How to Decide if a Conference Is Actually Worth It

Conference season is a major part of the professional calendar for CPAs, accounting firms, and business leaders. In this episode of Traction with the Tiger, Chris Wittich shares his perspective on attending industry conferences, CPA conferences, and networking events after tax season — and how to determine whether they truly provide value.

Chris discusses:

  • Why conference season follows tax season for accounting professionals
  • The difference between industry conferences and CPA technical conferences
  • How conferences support continuing professional education (CPE)
  • The value of networking, vendor relationships, and peer collaboration
  • Best practices for preparing before a conference and sharing knowledge afterward
  • How accounting firms can maximize ROI from conference attendance
  • The one question that determines whether a conference is worth attending again

From salon industry events to AICPA ENGAGE and national tax conferences, this episode explores how professionals can turn conferences into strategic investments instead of just another item on the calendar.

If you are a CPA, tax professional, firm leader, or business owner evaluating conferences, professional development opportunities, or CPE events, this episode provides practical insights on making the most of conference season.
