New Requirement to Electronically Create and File Minnesota CRP Forms

09/12/2024

Landlords and property managers of residential rental real estate in Minnesota are subject to a new Minnesota Department of Revenue (DOR) requirement.  Beginning with 2024 Certificates of Rent Paid (CRP), the forms must be created and submitted to Minnesota DOR electronically.

MN e-Services will be updated to facilitate electronic CRPs beginning Jan. 1, 2025.  Use the link below to access the site and create an account.  https://www.mndor.state.mn.us/tp/eservices/_/

A property owner with multiple properties may use one MN e-Services account to create and file all required CRPs.  If residential rental property is owned by a business, the business MN e-Services account may be used.

This new process does not replace the need to provide tenants with CRP forms directly.  Tenants will not be issued CRP forms through MN e-Services.
