Summary

The Internal Staff Accountant position will provide accounting support including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, client collections, and assist with month end close process including journal entries, account reconciliations and financial reporting. Will perform other duties as assigned. Works closely with the controller and other members of the accounting team.

Responsibilities

Considering the above general accountabilities in greater detail, below is a list of specific tasks that fall within the responsibility of this position:

  • Accounts payable and accounts receivable processing
  • Client billing and collection efforts via telephone, email, or statements
  • Monthly journal entries, account reconciliations and financial reporting
  • Ad hoc reporting and analysis for time, billing, clients, expenses and other
  • New client setup
  • Special projects

Qualifications & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting with two years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and clients
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, reporting systems and capacity to learn new systems
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all client and firm business
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

Physical Demands

  • Required to sit and stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to bend at the waist, kneel, stoop
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 15-20 pounds
  • Ability to reach above shoulders
